Uniqueness of Positive Solutions to Some Coupled Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations
We study the uniqueness of positive solutions of the following coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations: ∆u1 − λ1u1 + μ1u1 + βu1u2 = 0 in RN , ∆u2 − λ2u2 + μ2u2 + βu1u2 = 0 in RN , u1 > 0, u2 > 0, u1, u2 ∈ H1(RN ) where N ≤ 3, λ1, λ2, μ1, μ2 are positive constants and β ≥ 0 is a coupling constant. We prove first the uniqueness of positive solution for sufficiently small β > 0. Secondly, ass...
متن کاملExistence and uniqueness of weak solutions for a class of nonlinear divergence type diffusion equations
In this paper, we study the Neumann boundary value problem of a class of nonlinear divergence type diffusion equations. By a priori estimates, difference and variation techniques, we establish the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions of this problem.

j=1 ∂u ∂xj (x) = 0, (harmonic functions) in the unit ball {x ∈ R : |x| < 1}. When n = 2, these functions are real parts of holomorphic functions, and so, if they vanish of infinite order at x = 0, they must vanish identically. We call this the strong unique continuation property (s.u.c.p.). The same result holds for n > 2, since harmonic functions are still real analytic in {x ∈ R : |x| < 1}. I...
متن کاملUniqueness of Solutions to Matrix Equations on Time Scales
In this article we establish the uniqueness of solutions to first-order matrix dynamic equations on time scales. These results extend the results presented in [16], to more complex systems of n × n matrices. Following the ideas in [5, Chap 5], we identify Lipschitz conditions that are suitable for generalizing n× n models on time scales.

We consider a numerical method to verify the existence and uniqueness of the solutions of nonlinear hyperbolic problems with guaranteed error bounds. Using a C 1 nite element solution and an inequality constituting a bound on the norm of the inverse operator of the linearized operator, we numerically construct a set of functions which satisfy the hypothesis of Banach's xed point theorem for a c...
